Healthcare & Insurance
There are a variety of resources available to Minnesotans. See the sections below for more information.
Health Insurance
Medicaid/Medical Assistance
You may qualify for health insurance based on your income. Click here to see eligibility guidelines or call the Senior Linkage Line (see bottom of this page) to request an application. You may still be eligible for Medicaid if your income is higher than the guidelines. There are two types of Medicaid. Medicaid and Medicaid with a Spenddown (for people who earn more than the eligibility limits). Medicaid can help cover your medications, hospital visits, doctors visit, hearing, vision, dental, and more.

Medicare
You may qualify for Medicare health insurance. You must be 65 and older OR under 65 and disabled per Social Security, to qualify for Medicare. Contact your local Social Security Office to enroll. You can also call your State Health Insurance Program Office (Senior Linkage Line) for help.

MnSure/MnCare
MnSure and MnCare are health insurance options for Minnesotans. MnCare covers low income residents who do not qualify for Medicaid (Medical Assistance). MnSure is Minnesota's Health Insurance Marketplace for those who do not get health insurance through their employer.
